Privacy Policy
investr.info ("the app", "we") is a stock news and research app for NSE/BSE-listed securities, operated by Arshan Cyrus Pedder, Mumbai, India. This policy explains what data the app collects and what happens to it.
Not investment advice
investr.info provides research and information, not investment advice. The Investr Score and any buy/hold/sell style labels are generated automatically from public data using a fixed formula. They are not personalised to you and are not a recommendation to buy, sell, or hold anything. See the disclaimer for details.
What we collect
- Account data — your email address and display name. Passwords are stored only as bcrypt hashes; we cannot read them. If you sign in with Apple or Google, we store the provider's account identifier and the email it shares with us.
- Your lists — the portfolio holdings and watchlist entries you add (ticker, quantity, buy price, buy date). These exist so your lists sync across devices and so the app can show you relevant news for the stocks you hold or watch.
On your device
The app also keeps some data in local storage on your device rather than on our servers: your sign-in session and cached profile, a copy of your portfolio and watchlist for faster loading, your recently searched tickers, and your light/dark theme choice. Signing out or deleting your account clears the session, the cached lists, and the search history from that device. The theme choice stays, since it belongs to the device, not the account.
What we don't do
- We do not sell or rent your data to anyone.
- We do not show third-party ads or share data with ad networks.
- We do not track you across other apps or websites.
Service providers
The app runs on infrastructure that processes data on our behalf:
- Neon — hosts the Postgres database that stores account data (email, password hash, display name), portfolio holdings, and watchlist entries.
- Render — hosts the backend service that reads and writes that data on your requests, and a separate service that supplies public stock market data.
- Hostinger — web hosting for investr.info; serves the app's pages and files to your browser.
- Apple / Google — only if you use "Sign in with Apple" or "Continue with Google": we verify the sign-in token they issue against their servers or published keys, to confirm it's genuine. They do not receive your investr.info password.
Retention and deletion
Your data is kept while your account exists. Deleting your account (open Account in the app and tap Delete account, or see data deletion) permanently removes your account, portfolio, and watchlist from our database.
Market data and news
Prices, scores, and headlines shown in the app are market information, not personal data. Reading them does not require an account.
Children
The app is not directed at children under 13 and we do not knowingly collect their data.
Changes
If this policy changes materially, we will note it in the app and update the date above.
